Empatherapist founders Claire Mendelsohn, Liz Badger and Sarah Collins have over sixty years of collective experience in professional holistic therapy practice and training. Our shared vision - and passion - is to provide accessible, non-medicalised and unique oncology massage and beauty training courses that will teach you how to offer your clients bespoke treatments that will help them look and feel their most beautiful.
Claire is the owner and founder of holistic massage and beauty therapy training company London Therapists, and CMA and IICT accredited touch therapy training organisation Cuddle Professionals International. Claire holds the CMA-certified Integrative Oncology qualification and has her own private therapy practice in Richmond, south-west London. A member of the Guild of Holistic Therapists and the Guild of Therapy Lecturers.Claire is also accredited by the Humanists Non-Religious Pastoral Support Network, and is a member of the Chaplaincy team at Kingston Hospital in Surrey.
Sarah Collins
Sarah began her holistic therapy career over twenty years ago. After taking PTLLS at level 4, she combined her therapy work with teaching for London Therapists, Yorkshire Massage & Beauty Courses and Face the World. Sarah has written and taught courses including Aromatherapy, Ayurveda Massage and Reflexology, as well as tailored courses in spas, hotels and in hospices. As well as teaching Sarah sees her own therapy clients, and has learned that a contraindication often means ‘extra care’ rather than ‘hands off’. Writing and teaching holistic therapy and natural beauty courses for people with cancer gives Sarah a wonderful opportunity to share her experiences, and encourage other therapists to offer treatments to help clients maintain their well-being during their medical care and afterwards, to aid relaxation and to give themselves some pampering.
Liz Badger
Lizzie joins us as CEO and Principal of the award-winning company Face The World – a premium vegan skincare brand; Founder of the Pro-Touch Movement, which provides a free Therapies For Cancer library in collaboration with the NHS Trust, Harrogate and District; Coordinator of National Massage Day and Founder of the Volunteer Therapist Hub UK. With her career background as a forensic scientist and chemist, Liz also brings her meticulous eye for detail, passion for the proven science behind the skincare and techniques and a life dedicated to social justice. With both of her parents, only cousin and dearest friend going through extensive cancer care and/or palliative care, she knows first-hand how this impacts all involved. She believes in empowerment and freedom of choice for all.
Our Venue
Our training venue is in beautiful Haworth, West Yorkshire.
We also offer mobile tuition at your home or venue if you can't travel to us.
